How Place-based learning is central and real to learning

Deadly Outdoor Adventures is an educational outdoor guided tour business located on Yotra Yotra country, operating in the Barmah Forest. The business aims to inform and educate people on how the lands are meant to be used and respected by the traditional custodians, while making the experience fun and engaging for students. This unique approach sets Deadly Outdoor Adventures apart from other educational outdoor tours.

How Place-based learning is done through experience for students in activities in a country like hiking, camping, canoeing and much more; it's about immersing students in theses environments, not just teaching about nature but something more developing a more profound understanding of their environment and footing places of place and identy with this in mind, our students gain a sense of curiosity and a greater appreciation of nature and the cultural heritage of the land.

Place-based learning also encourages critical thinking and problem-solving skills, but social skills too being able to ask about the land, the activity we would have the students work on is bushwalking and environmental restoration with theses activity they will observe ask questions and collaborate with others with these skills under their belt they will not only better in education but better in their selected future roles in society as informed and educated citizens. Place-based learning emphasises community involvement by not only working with local organisations but also working with each other right in the environment learning from community members and each other
